The Swagoberry. - NOW FOR SALE $1400 - Updated 9/5/11

What she looks like now
679.jpg

Just picked up a 91 Wagovan. The body is in really good condition. Right as soon as I get a chance, I'll be taking pictures of it with my DSLR.
Got sick of the CRV. Great vehicle and all, I just need a car on it's nuts with a manual tranny and some power.
So I'm selling the CRV to my dad. Hopefully when he pays me, and tax returns roll around, I'll be swapping an LS Turbo. :D

Right now it is a D15B2 MPFI 5 Speed FWD. :D
Well here goes the beginning of a new fun thread from me. Hope you all enjoy. :D

So today I went to the junk yard and found a 90-93 accord lip. So I took some time and installed it along with my amber bumper lights.

Welcome! Very clean wagon! Great find for a project! Cant wait to see the updates!
  • Nice Wagon and welcome! Cant wait to see some progress
  • Well, it looks like I might be doing something I've never done before.
I'm thinking about going kinda different. My last EF (90 EF Hatch), I swapped an H22 into.
This time though, I am thinking about doing a JDM D15B Turbo.
We will see how that goes.

Anywho, got it on insurance and everything today. Driving it around. It's great.
I love it. And the funny thing is, I've already had 3 people tell me how ugly they think it is.

But hopefully this week I'm going to be dropping it on its nuts with my new coilovers I purchased.
I'll post pics with my DSLR when I get a chance.

    :D

I think it's better than the CRV too. It's just slow as mess.

No. You have to make them fit. If you're looking for a sexy lip man, my favorite one is that sexy integra lip. Oh my. :D
  • So, I'm getting paid this week. So I'll be slamming it and fixing my speedo.

I pulled the cluster out to see why my speedometer wasn't working. Well, I found out.
The cable actually ripped itself out of the clip. The clip was still connected to the cluster, and the cable was just chilling there.
Makes sense now why I was throwing a code 17 or whatever.

No other updates as of now. Been awfully busy with the girlfriend, school, and work. And we freaking had a small icestorm down here in SC.
  • Alright guys, so I've finally found out what I'm going to do. I'm going to build my wago to be sexy and slow...
Instead of going for speed like my hatch was, I'm going to go for gas mileage. I read HERE that you can get roughly 60mpg in a crx with a D15Z1 and an HF tranny.

Well, I have a wagovan, and am going to have a VX tranny.
The final drive in an HF tranny is 2.95.
The final drive in a VX tranny is 3.25, and
The final drive in an SI tranny is 4.25.

So my new tranny won't have as long as gears, but it is only going to have about 35,000 miles on it. The same with the motor. :D

My plans for now is to get:
D15Z1 SOHC VTEC-E (92-95 Civic VX motor) and Tranny
    I FOUND THEM HERE

It's going to be about 700 bucks to get the motor shipped to my door.

I'm also going to get 1 and 3/4 inch exhaust with an ebay header, resignator, and a muffler to keep it flowing well but quietly.

I'm pretty stoked guys. I'm shooting for +50 mpg. Let's hope.

That is way cool. I'll have to read up on the d15z1. I have a cherry HF tranny, but the HF motor...ugh. I have fantasies about building a super-efficient DD.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I thought about originally doing an HF Tranny, but for the price of this motor+tranny combo, I couldn't pass it up. Plus, this motor and tranny only have roughly 25-35 thousand on them. Good luck on finding an HF motor or tranny with that. Plus, it's VTEC-E with Lean Burn. So I will be happily low and slow. But at least my gas mileage with rock. :D
  • Put fog lights on tonight. Wired up everything, looks great.
Wired the fogs to my corner parking lights.

Everything was fine and working, then I turned the car on to drive, and the parking lights and fogs went off. :(
  • Wagon look nice . Check your fuses first , then check your wiring . Had the same problen on a friends car after a fog install . Turned out to be a wire not properly wrapped , was grounding out and blowing the fuse .
  • Update time! Hope you all enjoy this. :D

Got my fogs working again. It blew a fuse. I ended up rewiring them to my headlights instead.

where did you get the fogs... whats the brand also... cant go wrong with ebay coils when you starting off.. i just put a set in my buddys EK and we had to cut a coil out of the spring to get it where he wanted to be.. you might have to do it to yours if you want to scrape_mudz.. lol
  • I'm cuttin a coil or so this weekend on my eBay springs. My front won't go low enough :(

I got fogs just like that at napa for like 20 buck. But I'm going to get some of that yellow glass spray and paint em so they are more yellow they are kinda clearish.
  • prboy1969 wrote:

Actually, I got them from Walmart. They have clear lenses and a yellow inside (so they shine yellow). I just bought some lense spray so they will be yellow now. :D They cost about 15 bucks, and are pretty easy to install.

Yeah, after reading about gas mileage and things, I've decided to not 'go fast' anymore. I've already had a fast car (h22 ef hatch). Can't wait.

Well I'll see where it sits first. If I like where it's at, I'll leave it. But I eventually want it to scrap my mud flaps :D. But here in SC, our roads SUCK. We have pot holes that will eat your car. And companies here (like gas stations) don't really care about their entrances into their places. So in my last car I scraped EVERYTHING. It's hard to go low here. My last hatch had ebays on it for 3 years. The ride sucked because of my struts, not because of the springs.

Go here for the lense spray. That's what I did.

Thanks man . Probably pick up a set this weekend if I get a chance .
  • So, I've got a pretty decent update.
First off... my motor died. So I bought a rebuilt HF motor for 60 bucks and dropped it in. Slow, but pretty freaking good gas mileage. Got 440 miles on a single tank. :D

Also, I painted my stock corner lights amber, then smoked out my tail lights, corners, and bumper lights. I also painted my fogs yellow.

Then, I installed my CB7 accord arm rest.
I also installed my DA map light, which I have yet to get fully situated. I'll take pictures of that some time later. So here we go. Pictures. :D

My new CB7 Armrest with my totally awesome flannel covering.
Yeah, i definitely cut up my brothers old old flannel shirt…

Smoked custom amber corners, smoked bumper lights, and yellow painted fogs.

Hopefully in the next week I'm going to be getting my car slammed. I have my coilovers and camber kit. But I've got lots of stuff to fix. Pads, Rotors, Drums and Shoes need to be replaced. My speedometer also quit working yet again, and that's after about 3 months of driving it with my new cable. Hmm...
