Stock

I've been looking for a wagon for a while and came across this gem. It's almost completely original. It's never been wrecked with all factory paint. The plan is to keep it as stock as possible.

The first thing I did was to clean up the engine compartment. The motor is exceptionally clean and the valves were only a few thousandths off.

Sweet, your not bad at painting. Do please tell me that the moss was growing in dirt and not rust.

The window frames were a little rusty and dull so I prepped them for paint.

Yea, it was growing in dirt. It seems that the car was driven, but never washed. I paint cars for a living and will be starting the body work this weekend.

As stock as possible is what we all said, the "mod bug" bites us and next thing you know, we swap it and do other stuff to it. Good looking wagon though.

I buy most of my stuff through Worldpack. New front rotors, pads, cap rotor, wires, wiper blades, 3 oil filters, air filter, lift struts, for $200.

Yea, I know. I guess I just want to keep it stock looking. Maybe some wheels. The struts are original and need to be replaced. I guess if I'm going to do those I might as well get some lower springs....

    Here's a link to my last swap.> http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthre ... 3+3rz+swap

Not mine, but here's another swap being built in my garage.

X2, I like how clean the valve cover came out. Do they have that paint in other colors?

It has been raining in California, so I spent some time in the garage. The piece is welded in, just don't have a pic.

I do all of my bodywork wet. This eliminates all dust and the paper never clogs. 3M purple discs. 120 to rough in the filler, followed by 180, and finished off with 320.

So, the left side and the hood are primed. I hope to have the other side and the hatch done next weekend. Then it will get blocked and primed again.

I've learned with the wrinkle that if you hit it with a heat gun immediately after the last coat the wrinkle will be smaller and tighter.
