Z6 into 89 auto rt

Looking for some info on mainly the ecu. Could I just swap the z6 in and not hook up vtec?

    You could just do that. But its really simple to buy a p28 and buy an obd1 conversion harness and run 2 wires to the solnoid

    Will it affect the automatic tranny though
