hoodbridge was over this weekend helping me bleed the brakes. something is messed up in my wiring, brake pedal was causing the check engine light to come on, w/o the key in the ignition. then something poped and my fuel pump wont turn on anymore. im going to redo the headlight wire tuck routing and check the main relay, but the car is immobile for now.
i finally got my battery tray mounted to the car though!
we never made me a top part. I've got some shorty, angle aluminum from another project I'm going to use. I'll have pics when it's all mounted, rains been stickin' it to me, since I can't move the car now.
umm i looked in the truck on my car and ur bag o shit is not there i def gave it to you its all in a grocery bag .
but anywho hit me up and trace all the fuel pump wires and figure out the other issues .
i forgot we didnt make the top part .
you need to post up some picks with the blades on the wagon , it looks fresh as hell with them
Still haven't touched this thing. The only thing I can think it would be is the main relay. Just shitty that I have another wiring problem after I fix that! It's gotta be a ground issue with the pure randomness of the components affected. In the meantime, here's a pic with the blades.
Thanks dude! I've always wanted blades for this, when I first got it I had some LS meshes on it, they looked good, but I knew blades would look better. The blades were on the del sol for a long time (~3 years) until I finally got new wheels for that. I'm planning on spacing them out for a better fitment.
I've been working on some house projects and it's been raining so not much progress on the wagon. I painted my Rover wheels the other week:
The battery is relocated under the left headlight, behind the bumper cover, in front of the left wheel.
The wife got me motivated to work on this thing again. I showed her how to solder and we redid the wire tuck. I ran the lights, horns, and rad fan wiring on the outside of the chassis this time and re-did the grounds on each side of the car.
Then we needed to check the wiring so I hooked up a battery real quick and turned the key on, sure enough the fuel pump kicked on. So I fired it up and noticed the same whack issues with my gauges. Hooked up some jumper cables to the negative side of my battery and clamped them around the engine bay, all issues gone instantly. Tucked everything under the hood and took it down the street! Brakes still need bled a bit more and some random tidying up then I can get it registered and on the road!
Ok small update. Been working towards cleaning the rover up to sell it. Decided to go a totally different direction with the wagon, I don't want to say just yet, but I'm moving forward with the change ups.

definately looks sick....i wud cop this in a heart beat
Haven't done much to the wagon lately. Ordered some parts, need to order more. Once the heat simmers down hopefully I'll be able to get rolling on this thing again.
Ditched the rover in favor of a new ride. 1998 volvo v70r, it's a blast to drive!

I don't think it'll work, it's a bit wider than the wagon rear.
I swapped hoodbridge my blue door for a red door a couple days ago. Just bolted the fenders down this morning. Going to get the battery hooked up/cables fit and start cruising this thing around!
it's good to see this wagon again.
i just got over electrical issues too.
turns out the battery's fuse was blown and the problems were not as intense as i thought.
good luck... and lose the "edwefprts work schedule" (taking forever).

it's nice to see those projects that people whip together in a couple months time, but I think we'll take more out of these longer projects. A song comes to mind - Alabama - I'm in a Hurry

Looks great, and super clean!

I think the starter cable is pretty accessible with jumper cables and you can ground it anywhere on the block/head/manifold(s)
