  • Lookin good...Dec 31...you've got plenty of time. :)
  • Did some more wiring last night. I need to make a junk yard run for:

    -Vtec harness plug
    -Vtec oil pressure plug
    -radiator fan switch plug
    -purge valve plug
    -injector plugs
    -4 wire o2 sensor/o2 sensor plug

    -eg front forks

I also need to wire up the ECU connectors, all the wiring I've done so far has been in the bay.
  • Did some more wiring today. Got the ECU harness semi-knocked out. I was missing a few pins from the harness.

    What I think I need...

    -vtec oil pressure pin
    -vtec solenoid pin

Actually I have a few of the pins, I just need to figure out how to de-pin the harness.

    I am exhausted.

It'll be a miracle if this thing runs when I get all the wiring finished. For now I'll leave it open in case I need to make any corrections.
  • kyle h,
Are you using the existing wiring or is all of that wiring brand new?
  • Scrap wire mixed with with old harness wire mixed with junkyard connector wire. I'd highly recommend getting a full harness from an obd1 car before doing an obd1 swap. I've got the time to waste, but it would have been a lot more convenient to have everything. And make sure you have an assortment of wiring diagrams. I grabbed a few off the internet and none have been the same and/or matched every connector/color.
  • it's green...

  • i hope you are drawing up a new wiring map for all of that.
  • I don't need no stinkin' diagrams, I'm wingin' this shit!
  • Just back from the junk yard. Scored a valve cover, eg strut forks, all the sensor connectors I needed, aside from a vtec solenoid one, which I can get later. No o2 sensor either. Ready to get this thing running tomorrow if I can get my hands on an o2 sensor. Weather is calling for 6-10inches of snow tonight and all tomorrow... If I get far enough I might have to kick it without an o2 sensor!
  • hey man i got the rt u need to check it out and we need to chill so i we can get your wagon done at least on the road . hit me uo tomrow come check it out
  • I finished the wiring except for the o2 sensor. I put the radiator back in, the exhaust and exhaust manifold and bolted up the drive shaft. Put the suspension back in, front driveshafts, etc... It's all buttoned up, except for fenders, bumper and hood.

Tested some of the wiring with a spare battery, side turn signals and rear tail lights don't seem to work, everything else is good, maybe burnt out bulbs. Doubtful that all the bulbs are shot tho... I'll finish fixing that after it runs.

Another junk yard trip got me some of the window cowl clips I needed, an almost new muffler and some o2 sensors. I also grabbed a jetta lip, but not sure if I like the way it fits when I mocked it up.

I need to get a small battery, make a bracket and run some final battery cables for it. Once that's done it should be able to move on it's own power! Then comes finishing up the brake booster (install) and bleeding the brakes.
  • Spent some time last saturday fastening the lip to the bumper. I like how it doesn't contour to the corners of the bumper and tucks under, vice flaring out like most lips.

    304.jpg

I also boxed the ends of the lip off flush with the bumper, instead of cutting it, a pet peeve of mine. It was my first plastic welding experience, turned out pretty good. I probably could have measured better and planned a little bit, but I was just going with the flow. It was too dark and cold to get pictures of that section, next time...
  • Ordered a Deka Ext14 battery yesterday, should be in by the end of the week. I need to build a battery tray/tie down for it. I'm going to mount it in the bumper, beside/behind the passenger fog light.
  • CHARGE!!!

Is this a road going vehicle?

    good idea.
lots of space behind bumper if you remove the black airbox in that area.

You and me both! Thanks for reading.

hoodbridge and I built the tray last night, needs a few finishing touches. Today was like spring, I washed all the [mobile] cars and cleaned up the garage a bit.

And here's a little change, pictures!

The newest addition to the honda garage! My parents gave me their 189k mile 99 civic hatch, needs some love, as to be expected with the mileage.

hoodbridge took some in progress pictures of us making the tray. I'm sure he'll chime in with them, when he gets up (hah!) We were up till 3am putzing around with shit. Major props to him, this project wouldn't even be close without his help.

Sweet I think i am goin to build a high comp sohc for the wagon, when my crx is done!! I see for the last pic of it looks like the itbs are takin off!
  • I'm going to get this engine running solid before I put the ITBs on it.
  • 'running solid'

    btw, how's the foot...

    you should be swinging
    by now...

    tarzan...

  • As solid as a honda engine can run :o

The foot is good, I think it's a bit longer than the other one now, I notice shoes fit a little tighter on that side. It's been good for a while though, I recently started running again, been putting 4 miles a day on it pretty consistently. I do have some odd problems with it from time to time. I noticed the other day when running on pavement I tended to curl my toes back on that foot, which started to hurt. The next day I just tried to pay attention and keep them stretched out and I didn't have any problems. I was running on a softer gravel road though.

Speaking of swinging, I was learning how to salsa the other night. I am terrible at anything related to music and rhythm. I'll stick to working on cars.
